Dr. Norfolk was born in the UK, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 1978. Immediately after, he moved to the U.S. and started teaching, first as a graduate student, then as a faculty member in January 1984. He retired in June 2017, and now lives in the country, keeping a smallholding and writing about education issues.
